11 sci-fi/ fantasy shows and movies to watch in June

The Witcher season 3: June 29 (Netflix)
The third season of The Witcher is not the final season of The Witcher…but it is the last one where Henry Cavill will play the lead character of Geralt of Rivia, which for some fans comes to the same thing.
The Witcher season 3 will continue the story of Geralt, a professional monster-hunter trying to navigate his way through a cutthroat medieval world. He’s formed bonds with the sorceress Yennefer and the young displaced princess Ciri, who hopes to follow in his footsteps.
The Witcher season 3 adapts Time of Contempt, which many fans consider to be the best of Andrzej Sapkowski’s Witcher novels. Will that be enough to put the series back on top? Will people stick around for season 4, when Geralt will be played by Liam of Hemsworth? Things are about to get interesting.
Warrior season 3: June 29 (Max)
Warrior is the least known show on this list, but also the one I’m most excited for. A historical fiction show about the Tong Wars fought between Chinese gangs in San Francisco in the late 19th century, Warrior is equal parts character drama, historical reenactment, and high-flying martial arts spectacle. The action on this show is excellent, to the point where I consider it criminal that more people aren’t talking about it.
Warrior started life on Cinemax, but was picked up by Max (formerly HBO Max) for its third season. And thank goodness, cause the show is great and this is a fantastic opportunity to get on board.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destin: June 30 (in theaters)
The month closes out with Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, the fifth Indiana Jones movie and the last one that Harrison Ford intends to be involved with (for now; we’ll see how big a hit it is).
Unlike the first four films in the franchise, which were directed by Steven Spielberg, Dial of Destiny is directed by James Mangold, who helmed the excellent X-Men film Logan. It will find an older Dr. Jones working with his goddaughter Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) to recover an important artifact (as usual) and fight a villain played by Mads Mikkelsen.
This may well be the last Indiana Jones film ever, so let’s hope it ends the series on a high note.
