By WiC Staff
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently raking it in at the box office and received rave reviews. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see what happens next with Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Gwen Stacey (Hailee Steinfeld) and all the rest of the Spider-people in the multiverse ever since 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse smashed expectations. With Across the Spider-Verse, Miles and Gwen launch on an even more dangerous adventure, replete with new villains, new heroes, and new artistic styles.
If you’ve just finished watching Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the chances are good that you have one big question: when is the sequel coming out? Unlike the first film, Across the Spider-Verse ends on an enormous cliffhanger. It is part one of a two-part sequence, and as such it left quite a lot hanging. We’ll see how it all resolves in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Fortunately, we’ve known for quite a while now that Across the Spider-Verse was going to be split into two films. As such, there are details about when we can expect the sequel!
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse release date
We’ve known for more than a year now that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was going to be split into two movies, originally titled just Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One and Part Two. That eventually evolved into Across the Spider-Verse and Beyond the Spider-Verse.
As of this writing, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is currently slated to release on March 29, 2024. There’s always a chance that could change — Across the Spider-Verse faced several delays on its way to theaters. However, since those delays likely stemmed from the decision to split the movie into two parts, the chances are good that Beyond the Spider-Verse won’t have the same problem. We’re definitely expecting to see it next year.
Until then, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is now playing in theaters.
