Buckle up, Outlander fans! Season 7 is just one day away from premiering, and I promise you, it will be a doozy. Having watched the premiere already, I can personally attest to the chaos that lies ahead, and it is just the beginning.

And if you don’t believe me, then just read what Outlander stars Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser) and Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser) had to say in an interview with Forbes. “It is pretty intense stuff this season,” Balfe said. “I think we pick up where we left off last season with Claire in jail, and we figure out that Jamie is trying to find her. He’s trying to rescue her but the salvation comes in a mysterious form, doesn’t it?”

According to Heughan, the premiere does a good job of tying up loose ends from season 6. But don’t expect the series to stay stuck in the past. “And then I think from episode two, we’re suddenly on a different trajectory and a very different storyline. The first few episodes, a lot happens,” he said.

Outlander stars tease what’s to come in season 7

We know that this season will deal with the American Revolutionary War. It’s been lurking in the background for the last couple of seasons, and this season it will disrupt the Fraser family.

In the Forbes interview, Balfe and Heughan signed off by telling fans they hope everyone enjoys season 7 because it was made for the fans. They are very proud of it. Heughan says there is “so much to look forward to.”

There sure is! I wish I could say more about how this season will begin, but luckily, in just one more day, all will be revealed, and I promise you, it is a treat.

What about Outlander season 8?

As most of you probably know by now, the Hollywood writers strike has put filming for the final season of Outlander on hold. Executive producer Maril Davis shared that they were busy working on the final season and the prequel series in the writer’s room just as the strike began. “Obviously, with the writers strike, who knows what’s going to happen, but I hope that ends soon,” she said. “I hope the writers get what they want. I hope we can come back to those rooms because it’s a lot of exciting stuff.”

Balfe mentioned that they want to “end [the show] on a high” and were very set on making sure that there was a proper ending for the fans “who’ve supported us for so long, and kind of give them a really considered and thoughtful ending. We really haven’t started those conversations yet.”

There is certainly a lot to look forward to as the series heads towards the finish line. But for now, get ready and get hyped to enjoy the seventh season! It’s going to be amazing! It premieres Friday, June 16 on STARZ!
