The Walking Dead: Dead City is off to a great start. And that’s just the beginning for The Walking Dead spinoffs. Later this year, we’ll also see fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) return to action in a very different setting: Europe!
In The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, Daryl washes up in France, bewildered as to exactly how he got there, and finds it difficult to get home. You can’t just buy plane ticket to Atlanta during the zombie apocalypse.
AMC is dropping teasers for the new show after episodes of Dead City. Last week, we saw a clip of Daryl stranded at sea. And now, in the latest teaser, he’s washed ashore and is travelling across a barren and grim post-apocalyptic landscape. As fans, we often wondered how the apocalypse hit other parts of the world. Turns out Europe fared no better than the U.S.:
While the initial teaser was quite mysterious, the latest contains a little more to talk about. Daryl speaks into a recorder, hinting that he’s out looking for something: “My name is Daryl Dixon,” he says. “I come from a place called the Commonwealth. It’s in America. I went out looking for something, and all I found was trouble. If I don’t make it back, I want ’em to know I tried. Hell, I’m still trying.”
What’s he looking for? Any ideas?
Fans compare Daryl Dixon footage to the original Walking Dead show
Fans are already spotting similarities between the Daryl Dixon show and the series premiere of the mother show, which aired way back in 2010. Look no further than this. The team knew exactly what they were doing:
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere later this year, although no exact release date has been set yet. In the meantime, The Walking Dead: Dead City is airing Sundays on AMC.
