1. Aragorn and Arwen bow to Frodo and the hobbits

"Aragorn: “My friends, you bow to no one”"

That’s what Aragorn, son of Arathorn, says to Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin when they try to bow to him after his coronation.

After Frodo and Sam are nursed back to health following everything that goes down at Mount Doom and getting rescued by the eagles, Aragorn officially takes the crown and becomes the King of Gondor, as he was always meant to be. The new King and Queen of Gondor bow to the four hobbits who sacrificed everything and put their lives on the line countless times to save Middle-earth and bring forward the Age of Men.

There are so many incredible moments in the second half of The Return of the King, but this one tops the list. Thinking back to Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin’s introduction to Aragorn, also known as Strider, a lowly ranger, at The Prancing Pony in Bree, it’s amazing to see how far these five characters (six, counting Arwen) have come.

This is one of my favorite moments in all three Lord of the Rings movies. It doesn’t get much better than this scene.
