All the secrets from The Wheel of Time season 2 trailer

Moiraine and Siuan in a flashback?
Next up we have a brief scene of Moiraine and Siuan kissing. Siuan is wearing blue here, which means there’s a decent chance this is a flashback.
As Amyrlin Seat, Siuan Sanche has an ornate outfit she’s required to wear; it’s white with a stole depicting the colors of all the Ajahs. But before becoming Amyrlin, Siuan belonged to the Blue Ajah. The details of Siuan’s time with the Blues is covered in the prequel novel New Spring, which also establishes that Moiraine and Siuan had a relationship in their younger years. The books don’t explore it in the same depth as the show. I’d wager that’s what we’re looking at here, especially since Siuan is also missing some of her tattoos.
Nynaeve and Egwene hug it out. Note that Nynaeve is not wearing her Novice clothing in this scene.
Another bit from Nynaeve’s Accepted trial. That looks like Liane Sharif (Jennifer Cheon Garcia) channeling while Nynaeve looks on with trepidation. Not sure who the Aes Sedai behind Liane is.
Next up, Egwene and Elayne have a heart-to-heart:
This is our best look yet at Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand. Elayne is the heir to the royal line of Andor and one of Egwene’s fellow novices in the White Tower.
“If my friends are in trouble, why would I stay here?” Egwene asks. Without going too deep down the spoiler rabbit hole, Egwene does eventually leave the White Tower in The Great Hunt, which ultimately leads to her run-in with the Seanchan.
Moiraine struts out a fancy-looking door. We don’t see her face, but we’d recognize that power walk a mile away.
Speaking of Moiraine, she’s concerned. “You have no concept of the power they wield,” she tells someone offscreen. Who is she talking about?
We don’t know for sure that she’s talking to Lan, but he’s in the next couple of shots. “You can’t do this by yourself,” he tells Moiraine.
If only there were other people willing to help Moiraine and Lan in their fight against the Dark One…
When an Aiel’s veil goes up, they mean business
We got a glimpse of an Aiel warrior in action during the Blood Snow scene from season 1, but they will become a much bigger part of the story from here on out. One of the main Aiel characters from the series is Aviendha, played by Ayoola Smart in the show. Here we see her pulling up her veil before going to town on a bunch of White Cloaks:
You know an Aiel plans on doing some damage if they have their veil up. If their veil isn’t up, you have nothing to worry about. Well, less to worry about.
Plenty of characters will be scrapping this season. Here’s a shot of Nynaeve sword fighting two people. She’s wearing her white Novice’s robe here. Considering those ornate pillars and the target and weapon racks, I’m guessing this is some kind of training at the White Tower.
The man spinning behind Nynaeve looks like Maksim (Taylor Napier), one of the Aes Sedai Alanna’s warders. That would explain why he’s wearing a green shirt, since Alanna is of the Green Ajah. If it is Maksim, that probably means the other person Nynaeve is fighting is Owain (Emmanuel Imani), Alannah’s other warder.
Lan somersault kicks a hooded figure. I don’t know who he’s kicking but I approve.
“It’s not always the most powerful who write history. It’s the ones who survive.”
Next up we return to Tar Valon at night, where a hooded figure is walking through the streets.
It’s Liandrin! With a basket? Suspicious.
Meanwhile, Rand is hanging out shirtless. Not sure where he is, but the shutters look pretty similar to the room where he was channeling the One Power earlier in the trailer.
We mentioned this shot earlier; it’s from Nynaeve’s Accepted trial. Note the blood on her white Novice robe and the weaves of power that seem to be awakening the arch. If the show handles the Accepted trial like the books do, Nynaeve will have some traumatic visions on the other side of those arches. The pain of those visions can carry over into the real world, as evidenced by the blood on her dress.
Perrin stabs a Whitecloak. Without giving away too much, Perrin and the Whitecloaks have a long-running beef in the books, mostly because he kills some of them in The Eye of the World. That didn’t happen in the show; instead the wolves busted Perrin and Egwene out of the Whitecloak camp. Looks like season 2 might make up for it.
Another shot of Egwene wearing the Seanchan a’dam. Why do I have a feeling that plotline is going to be devastating?
Then to Rand, who’s tied to a giant wheel (of time). Again without a shirt.
“It’s not always the most powerful who write history. It’s the ones who survive,” Liandrin says. It looks like she might be talking to Egwene?
Those are ominous words. With the Seanchan on the war path, might we see some big deaths this season?
