8. Lancel Lannister

Lancel certainly isn’t as evil as Cersei or Joffrey, but let’s face it: he’s annoying. There’s not much worse than a character who’s irritating and neither empathetic nor interesting.

The son of Kevan Lannister, Lancel has a very minor role at the start of the show as Robert Baratheon’s squire, but he becomes a key player in the power struggles within House Lannister once he starts sleeping with Cersei. Unsurprisingly, she manipulates him and uses him to her advantage, making his life seem rather pitiful. Of course, she’s in the wrong, but his loyalty to her is frustrating.

Lancel eventually joins the Sparrows, undergoing a big religious transformation to finally create an identity for himself. But after having an affair with his cousin, it’s hard not to see him as a hypocrite.

7. Myrcella Baratheon Lannister

Cersei and Jaime’s only daughter, Myrcella is a sweet young girl who mainly serves as a plot device to push forward the stories of other characters. Like Tommen, she seems like a kind-hearted person who doesn’t cause trouble. (What went wrong with Joffrey?) Unfortunately, though, we don’t really get to know Myrcella beyond that, because she’s shipped off to Dorne in the second season for a politically arranged marriage.

The good news for Myrcella is that she actually forms a close bond with her betrothed, Prince Doran Martell. But the bad news is they don’t live happily ever after. Sadly, she’s killed by Ellaria Sand out of revenge after the Mountain murders Oberyn Martell in Tyrion’s trial by combat.

Though sending Myrcella to Dorne is definitely the safest choice at the time, she unfortunately still cannot escape the consequences of being a member of House Lannister. She doesn’t deserve to die, and I wish she could have a better life.
