Let’s dreamcast Max’s new Harry Potter TV show
Damien Lewis as…Arthur Weasley
The London-born actor Damien Lewis has an impressive track record on doing great work on TV dramas like Band of Brothers, Billions and Homeland. At 52 years old, he’s aged into someone who just looks like the patriarch of the Weasley clan.
With his somewhat buffoonish fascination with Muggles, Arthur Weasley is a fun character to play. As the books go on, Arthur goes from the quirky Weasley dad to an important ally to Harry and Dumbledore, and his children make up almost half of the Order of the Phoenix.
I think Lewis could bring out both the comedic and dramatic aspects of Arthur Weasley in the Max show.
Emily Blunt as…Molly Weasley
Molly Weasley is the glue that holds Harry Potter and the Weasley clan together. She is the mother of seven children — eight if you include Harry — who spends a considerable amount of time at the Weasley home known as the Burrow. Since Harry grows up in the non-magic home of his aunt and uncle who hate him, Molly and Arthur act as Harry’s surrogate magical parents. Molly opens her home to Harry and fosters a loving environment for him to learn about the magical world alongside her children.
This is an important role and I think Emily Blunt would do a good job with it. I think the best point of reference is her performance in the Quiet Place films. In that post-apocalyptic thriller franchise, Blunt leads her children through a chaotic world and tries to hold her family together. Molly can relate.
