Let’s dreamcast Max’s new Harry Potter TV show
James McCovoy as…Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail)
I’m convinced that James McCovoy could play about half the characters on this list, but I think his talents would be best suited for a villain. Although Peter Pettigrew is a minor character, he plays an extremely important role in Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. After all, Wormtail is the one who performs the ritual that restores Voldemort to full power.
If you’ve ever seen the movie Split, you know that a role like Wormtail would be child’s play for an actor of McCovoy’s caliber. McCovoy may be a little too handsome for this role, but they could ugly him up with makeup to achieve Wormtail’s signature rat-like look. I would love to see the Maxshow dive deeper into Wormtail’s relationship with the rest of the Marauders and how his betrayal affected them.
Sam Claflin as…Lucius Malfoy
Sam Claflin’s most famous role is as the handsome heartthrob Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games, but he is very capable of playing a heartless piece of garbage like Lucius Malfoy. Look no further than his work in Peaky Blinders or the very disturbing movie The Nightingale, where his character orders others to do some pretty heinous things. In addition to playing this type of character before, Claflin has the look of a rich guy concerned with what others think of his family, which is exactly how Lucius acts on a daily basis.
As one of the main antagonists of the Harry Potter franchise, Lucius is sort of the opposite of Kingsley Shacklebolt. Both are employed by the Ministry of Magic but are loyal to different people, in Lucius’ case Lord Voldemort. His pompous attitude and pretentious speeches could be executed to perfection by Claflin.
