This week on Take the Black, we marvel over how Netflix managed to make a good One Piece show, talk The Wheel of Time spoilers, and more.

Netflix has a rough history when it comes to live-action adaptations of anime shows. Death NoteCowboy Bebop…they struck out again and again in this area, and we weren’t expecting much more from their adaptation of One Piece, one of the most popular manga and anime series of all time.

So imagine our surprise when the show dropped and it was actually really fun! It looks good, the acting is good, and the tone makes sense even though it’s a show about a cartoon boy made of rubber making his way in a violent world full of bloodthirsty pirates. We dig into that and much more on the latest episode of our chat show Take the Black. Watch below!

We also get into spoilers for the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time, talk about the latest episode of Star Wars: Ahsoka, and more. Big show this week.
