A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin has imagined many fantastic and complex characters. Whether you love or hate someone, chances are you won’t be able to stop thinking about them days after finishing a chapter of his books or watching an episode of Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon. Even some of the minor characters in his stories have interesting backgrounds worth exploring.

If Martin ever releases The Winds of Winter (and A Dream of Spring after that), perhaps he’ll have time to write about other time periods in Westerosi history. If not, at least we know that HBO is picking up the slack. They’re working on season 2 of House of the Dragon, a show set over 100 years before Game of Thrones, and developing another TV show based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas. We could even get a Jon Snow sequel show.

And while I personally would love to see Kit Harington back on my screen, does anyone else think there are other characters they would rather watch in a spinoff? Here are seven characters from the Game of Thrones universe who deserve their own show more than Jon Snow. (Sorry, I love you, Kit, I promise!)

Arya Stark

This is an obvious one, right? Arya Stark is one of the best characters that Martin has ever created, and though she has a fantastic storyline throughout the books and show, it feels like she has more to do. The show’s finale leaves plenty of room to continue Arya’s journey for a long time to come as she decides to leave Westeros to explore uncharted territories.

Arya comes a long way since we first meet her as a rebellious child who’s not afraid of anything. Even though she’s no longer naive at the end of the show, she’s still as ambitious as ever. Getting to see Arya sail away from Westeros would make for a really entertaining series, and one that would not need to wait for George R.R. Martin to generate source material. They could take her storyline anywhere. With a great team of writers, an Arya spinoff would be an easy sell with fans.
