Let’s dreamcast The Legend of Zelda live-action movie. Who should play Link, Zelda, etc?
Dove Cameron as Midna
In the pantheon of The Legend of Zelda‘s characters, Midna reigns supreme as the most enigmatic and unforgettable ally to ever accompany Link on his quests. This Twilight Princess, with her impish grin and cryptic past, brings a shade of complexity to the often black-and-white land of Hyrule.
Midna is not your average sidekick: she’s a ruler in exile, a creature of twilight forced into a form that hides her true power and royal lineage. She can be sassy and self-serving as well as a deeply compassionate leader willing to shatter the very boundaries of her world to do what’s right. Midna captivates with her sharp wit, her transformative abilities, and her poignant humanity.
Dove Cameron was my very first thought when it came to deciding who’d be perfect to embody the Twilight Princess. Cameron’s chameleon-like capacity to switch between drama and levity aligns flawlessly with Midna’s dual nature. Her roles as Mal in Disney’s The Descendants and as a set of twins In Liv and Maddie are exhibit A for why her casting would be ideal. Her gorgeous, sparkling eyes and expressive face are tailor-made for delivering both Midna’s snarky remarks and heartfelt moments, ensuring that audiences will hang onto her every word and gesture.
Cameron’s ability to project strength and vulnerability in a single breath is Midna to the core. She will capture the layered essence of a character who is so much more than her mysterious aura. Her musical talent could also lend believability to Midna’s theme. With Dove Cameron cast, Midna would be not just a supporting role but the soul of the story, guiding both Link and viewers through a journey of laughter, tears, and triumph. She’s the wildcard of Hyrule, and Cameron has the ace up her sleeve to bring her to life.
