Beware SPOILERS for the latest episode of Invincible below!

On the latest episode of Invincible, “This Missive, This Machination,” Allen the Alien died. Yes, the affable one-eyed alien played by Seth Rogen met his end at the hands of a trio of Viltrumite thugs. They were trying to get Allen to tell them what happened between Omni-Man and his son Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, who’s an extremely rare example of a Viltrumite who fought against another Viltrumite.

Somehow, the Viltrumites found out about all of this in almost no time at all, which lends weight to the idea that there’s a mole among the leadership of the Coalition of Planets. At the end of the episode, we learn that Thaedus — a highly placed member of the Coalition — was the mole. He seems to kill Allen while he’s on life support following his run-in with the Viltrumites.

Did Allen the Alien die in Invincible?

So is this the end of Allen the Alien? Well, if the show follows the comics by Robert Kirkman, no.

In the comics, Allen does indeed get badly defeated by the Viltrumites, but he ends up healing in a stasis pod. In fact, when he wakes up he’s more powerful than before.

However, the show is not the comics, so it’s possible that Allen will indeed die on the show. I’d be very upset by that, since he’s a delightful character. But we’ll have to wait until next week to find out for sure.

Next week’s episode of Invincible will be the final one we see for a while. The show will return with the back half of its second season in 2024.

Next. House of the Dragon season 2 will premiere in “early summer”. dark
