A House of the Dragon tarot card deck is coming

The second season of House of the Dragon is on the way. You can tell because we’re hearing more and more about HotD merch due out next year. There are new House of the Dragon Funko Pops coming out in January, a House of the Dragon coloring book coming out in May, and now a House of the Dragon tarot deck is on the horizon.
Tarot decks have been around for centuries. They consist of 78 cards and can be used to play a variety of games. You can also use them for divination.
The House of the Dragon tarot deck will be distributed by Simon & Schuster, put together by Erica Davis. According to the listing on Simon & Schuster’s website, the deck “reimagines Rhaenyra, Daemon, Aemond, Viserys, and other fan-favorite characters in original illustrations based on classic Rider-Waite tarot iconography.”
"Featuring both the Major and Minor Arcana, the set also comes with a helpful guidebook containing explanations of each card’s meaning and simple spreads that will help you interpret your readings. Packaged in a sturdy, decorative gift box, this stunning deck of tarot cards is the perfect gift for House of the Dragon fans and tarot enthusiasts everywhere."
That guidebook runs 128 pages, so it’ll be hard for you to misinterpret whatever signs the deck is giving you.
I confess I don’t know much about tarot, but I know that artwork looks cool. I also think it’s interesting how much we’re hearing about House of the Dragon merchandise lately. It seems like HBO wants to build hype ahead of the second season, which last we heard will premiere in “early summer” of next year.
According to Los Siete Reinos, the House of the Dragon tarot deck is targeting a release date of August 6. If the show sticks to that “early summer” projection, that means the deck could come out somewhere in the middle of the run for season 2.
