HBO has released the first trailer for House of the Dragon season 2! It’s awesome. Watch below:

There are still months to go before House of the Dragon officially returns. In the meantime, HBO has also provided us with some new glossy photographs to look over. Let’s start with this one of Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) and her husband/uncle Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) sharing a moment:

Rhaenyra and DAemon also get a solo shot apiece. Daemon is outfitted for battle…

…while Rhaenyra looks over the craggy shores of (I assume) the island of Dragonstone:

We’ve also got a shot of Rhaenyra’s advisor Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), thinking deep thoughts over the Painted Table:

Meanwhile, over in King’s Landing, Rhaenyra’s enemies plan to do anything it takes to keep her off the Iron Throne. That includes her former best friend Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), seen here on the streets of the city wearing her favorite color:

And here’s Alicent conferring with her snake of a father, Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans):

In a way, Alicent’s son Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) is behind a lot of his family’s current woes. Had he not gone off book and killed his nephew Lucerys Velaryon at the end of season 1, maybe this cold war could have remained cool. Instead, it’s set to escalate into an orgy of fire and blood. But Aemond wouldn’t be Aemond if he wasn’t unpredictable:
