The Boys season 4 has the “craziest thing we’ve ever done”

Next year, Prime Video will premiere season 4 of its most popular superhero show, The Boys. It feels like with every passing season, the team manages to take the vulgarity to ridiculous new levels of craziness, from the “Herogasm” episode (which actually had a warning in the beginning), to Termite’s…explosive fantasy. Believe it or not, showrunner Eric Kripke says season 4 has the “craziest” scene yet. How is that even possible?

Prime Video recently released the first teaser for The Boys season 4, which focused on a very, very unhinged Homelander. We also get our first glimpse at The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who joins the show in a mysterious role. Check out the trailer below:

Prepare for the craziest scene The Boys has ever aired!

The teaser paints a bleak picture. The world appears to be on the brink of collapse. Naturally, as the stakes grow ever higher, so too does the raunchiness and violence. But don’t just take it from me. After the trailer released, Kripke took to X (formerly Twitter) to tease one scene that he’s been working on in post-production.

"I would just like to add that I was in post today, working on a Season 4 scene that miiiiiiight be the batshit craziest thing we’ve ever done? Like I truly can’t believe we got away with it."

But what could possible top what we’ve already seen? Well (SPOILER ALERT), in the comics, Homelander literally eats a baby. I mean, that would certainly be the most horrific thing to ever happen in the show — and possibly TV history.

The Boys stars are down to appear in Gen V

The Boys universe is expanding! While we didn’t have a new season of the main show this year, Prime Video did air Gen V, a live-action spinoff series. Featuring a whole new cast of college-age heroes, the spinoff featured a couple of cameos from the mothership show, most notably Homelander.

The question now is: Which other characters from The Boys could appear in Gen V season 2? Speaking to The Direct, Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko) revealed that she would be down to crossover. “Yes, I’ve already talked to [Eric] Kripke about it. I don’t know how, but I think Frenchie and Kimiko need to make an appearance somehow. I mean, they must be on a mission somewhere in that world, right?”

Erin Moriarty (Starlight), shares a similar view. “First of all, hell yes, I would love to be in [‘Gen V’],” she said, but made is clear that it would have to make sense in the story. “But second of all, I’m all for, like–[Eric Kripke] is gonna sprinkle in those characters, not just cause. Not just to get people to watch it. It’s never going to be arbitrary. It’s going to be purposeful, right?”

The Boys season 4 will premiere in 2024, and Gen V is officially returning for season 2. The future is exciting!
