Things are moving fast in Westeros, and for once we're not talking about characters fast-traveling across the map. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms just debuted a few months ago and House of the Dragon season 3 is only weeks away now. In the midst of all that, it looks like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 has wrapped filming — at least in its primary location shoot. Over the weekend, both Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell posted on social media that they were finished filming season 2, and were leaving the set in Spain.
Claffey — who plays Ser Duncan the Tall — posted a selfie on Friday with the caption, "That's a wrap in GC," referring to Gran Canaria, the Spanish island where many of season 2's outdoor scenes were filmed. The following day, Ansell posted a video of himself carrying two oversized suitcases as he bid farewell to the island out loud. There could be more filming to go, but this wrap lines up with a previous report by Deadline, which said that HBO expected this series to be finished in June.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 has been making steady progress
It's been a non-stop ride for fans of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms since January of this year. Season 2 began filming a few weeks before the first season premiered on HBO, beginning in the Game of Thrones franchise's familiar home in Belfast, Ireland. That means there have been consistent updates from the set before, during and after the show's run, all pointing to the promise of a quick turnaround.
Six months is a long period of time for any cast and crew to work through, especially on a production like this. Considering that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has a shorter runtime and fewer episodes per season than either Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, there's a decent chance that the season is finished now. However, if Claffey and Ansel are heading to another set for a few weeks, that still lines up with Deadline's report. As always, there could be re-shoots and pick-up shots between now and the season premiere.

Season 2 will adapt the second novella in George R.R. Martin's Tale of Dunk and Egg series, "The Sworn Sword," which takes place in the Reach during a terrible drought. It seems that Gran Canaria was chosen as location for this parched landscape, but so far glimpses of any sets have been scarce.
Thankfully, we won't have to wait long to see it as the showrunner intended. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 is slated for release sometime in 2027. In the meantime, House of the Dragon Season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 22 on HBO and HBO Max. Martin's books are available in print, digital, and audiobook formats.
