We all may still be nursing our A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms finale hangover this morning, but HBO is happy to give us a bit of good news to help out. The studio just announced today that the series is getting a physical release later this year, as well as the release date and all its special features. So while we may be done with this chapter of Dunk and Egg's journey, it won't be long before you can add their first adventure to your physical media collection!
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Complete First Season releases on June 16, 2026. It comes in 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions, all of which have had their cover art revealed. Check it out:

If you're into collecting physical media, it goes without saying that this is an exciting announcement. In our modern streaming era, physical releases are less and less of a guarantee; fortunately, HBO has no intention of ruining your long-running Game of Thrones Blu-ray collection by holding back Dunk and Egg. Now you can visit Ashford Meadow anytime you want!
We also know what features are coming on the release, including two exclusive featurettes that are only available on the home release: “Building A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” and “Welcome to A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” (Extended).
Here's the full list of other special features:
- “A Knight in the Making” web documentary series (Episodes 1-6)
- “Ashford Meadow Set Tour with Dexter Sol Ansell”
- “Inside the Episode” (Episodes 1-6)
- Character Spotlights: "Meet Dunk" and "Meet Egg"
- Blooper Reel
To my eye, there are two glaring omissions from this special features list. The first is deleted scenes. House of the Dragon similarly did not feature any deleted scenes, despite it being revealed that many had been filmed for the show's first season. Perhaps A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms ran a tighter ship and there weren't any, but I'd still be curious to hear showrunner Ira Parker weigh in about it.
The other thing I wish was on this release is commentary tracks for the episodes. That was always a highlight of the Game of Thrones physical releases, and it's a shame that the more recent releases haven't bothered with them. With the exception of the exclusive featurettes, most everything in that special features list is already available on YouTube or HBO Max, and you can bet that most diehard fans have seen them. But hey, at least there will be a Blooper Reel, which is bound to be a total hoot with this cast.
Any gripes aside, it's certainly exciting to know A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is getting this sort of release. I wish more shows followed suit.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Complete First Season is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on June 16, 2026. That date piques my interest; could it be right around the time that House of the Dragon season 3 premieres? We'll know soon enough!
