Filming on the third season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is about to begin. We've heard a lot about the show staffing up lately with new actors. The latest is Lucas Aurelio, who's probably best known for playing Paul Suarez in the third season of Bridgerton on Netflix. In that series, Aurelio played an upper crust society type who has a threesome with Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) and Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson). Aurelio also played a minor character named Antony in Netflix's The Witcher. At the least, he's used to getting into ye olde tymey costumes for his TV roles, so he should fit in on the set of House of the Dragon.

The last time we heard of a new cast member joining House of the Dragon, it was James Norton playing the role of Ormund Hightower, cousin to Alicent. We have no idea who Aurelio is playing; his agency page says only that his next role will be on House of the Dragon. It's hard to make a guess without more to go on. He could be from the Reach, he could be from King's Landing, he could be from the Riverlands or even the North. I'm at least willing to bet that he's playing someone from Westeros rather than Essos, but that's almost no guess at all. Any ideas you want to leave in the comments?

When last we left things on House of the Dragon, lots of factions were headed for a clash. A green army from King's Landing was marching out to fight the black army that Daemon Targaryen had raised at Harrenhal. The Lannisters were marching on the Riverlands from the west. And in Essos, a fleet under the leadership of Sharako Lohar was sailing out to engage a fleet captained by Corlys Velaryon. Lucas Aurelio's character, whoever he is, will likely be somewhere in that fracas when House of the Dragon returns for its third season on HBO and Max sometime next year. With filming starting any minute, perhaps we'll spy him on set.

In the meanwhile, HBO is readying a whole new Game of Thrones prequel series to air later this year. Set decades after the events of House of the Dragon but decades before those of Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be a smaller, funnier, gentler trip to Westeros:
