The third season of The Wheel of Time premieres on Prime Video next week, and we are psyched. Adapted from Robert Jordan's beloved epic fantasy series, this show has improved with every season and the third looks like it will be the biggest and best yet.
Like the first two seasons, the third season of The Wheel of Time will have eight episodes. It's not as much as we'd like, particularly given how huge a story this is, but at least we can rest assured that every episode will be big and chonky. Gamesrant has the info on episode lengths for season 3. Check them out below:
Episode Title | Release Date | Runtime |
---|---|---|
"To Race the Shadow" | March 13 | 69 minutes |
"A Question of Crimson" | March 13 | 59 minutes |
"Seeds of Shadow" | March 13 | 62 minutes |
"The Road to the Spear" | March 20 | 66 minutes |
"Tel'aran'rhiod" | March 27 | 66 minutes |
? | April 3 | 68 minutes |
? | April 10 | 58 minutes |
? | April 17 | 68 minutes |
All but two of the episodes is over an hour, with the premiere and the finale being especially long. There's nothing here that approaches the length of, say, the season 4 finale of Stranger Things, which ran for a ridiculous two-and-a-half hours, but I don't know how often TV shows should indulge in that kind of thing anyway. At some point, just make a movie if you want to make a movie.
The upcoming season will adapt The Shadow Rising, one of the best books in The Wheel of Time series. It has been firmly established that Rand al'Thor is the Dragon Reborn; there's no running from his destiny now. He, the Aes Sedai sorceress Moiraine, and others will head to the Aiel Waste, where Rand hopes to win the warlike Aiel people to his cause. Meanwhile, things get shaken up at the White Tower of the Aes Sedai, where powerful players will try to steer the organization in a new direction.
As you can see in our little table above, The third season of The Wheel of Time will kick off on Thursday, March 13. Prime Video will drop the first three episodes all at once, as it their wont, with the remaining five coming out one per week after that.
