Prime Video’s Fallout is returning, and the second season is heading right into the most beloved setting from the games—The Mojave Wasteland.

At this year’s Gamescom, director and producer Jonathan Nolan took the stage along with showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet and stars Ella Purnell and Aaron Moten to reveal the first teaser trailer for the upcoming season, which is set to release this December.

The teaser is loaded with references and locations from the fan-favorite RPG, Fallout: New Vegas. For fans of the game who have been waiting years to see more of that world, this is all the more exciting.

The trailer starts off with Lucy and The Ghoul walking into New Vegas, and you see that familiar Mojave look with destroyed buildings, crumbling highways, and then the main New Vegas strip in the distance, with the iconic Lucky 38 casino tower still standing tall.

But that’s not all, as other iconic characters and locations from the game also make an appearance, such as Victor the robot, and the Dinky the T. Rex building from the town of Novac.

Fallout season 2 will likely explore Mr. House's origins even further

One of the most exciting parts is the reintroduction of Mr. House, this time being played by Justin Theroux. He’s one of the most iconic characters in the franchise, and the teaser provides a quick look at him running things in Vegas as part of The Ghouls’ pre-war flashbacks (which were also one of the best things about season 1).

What makes it even more interesting is how the show is expanding on Mr House. We get a glimpse of The Ghoul when he was still Cooper Howard, interacting with Mr. House before the bombs dropped. It looks like we’ll finally get a lot more answers about The Great War and what Mr. House’s exact involvement in that event was.

And then comes the real crowd-pleaser: a Deathclaw. New Vegas players can never forget how terrifying those encounters were in the game, especially around the Quarry Junction area.

The teaser also shows members of Caesar’s Legion. You see flashes of soldiers in their armor and banners waving, although it's not clear yet just how big or small a role this faction will play. Given that the show takes place 15 years after Fallout: New Vegas, it’ll be interesting to see which of the game’s multiple endings the show considers canon, and what becomes of those factions and key players.

Fallout season 2 is set to premiere on Dec. 17, 2025, and episodes will release weekly this time instead of dropping all at once like season 1 did. It’s a different approach, but it gives fans more time to stick with the show.
