There's an unexpected Game of Thrones reunion happening on Netflix this fall, but not in the way that you might think. Obviously, it's not an actual reunion but one between two actors who played pivotal roles in the HBO fantasy series. In the upcoming Netflix period drama House of Guinness, Thrones fans will see Joffrey Baratheon and Roose Bolton back on their screens!
Game of Thrones stars Jack Gleeson and Michael McElhatton are both part of the cast of the historical drama series House of Guinness, which comes from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Gleeson played Joffrey in Game of Thrones through season 4, which McElhattaon played Roose from season 2 through 6, becoming a series regular for season 5 and 6.
House of Guinness on Netflix reunites Game of Thrones favorites
Netflix officially revealed the release date for House of Guinness, which premieres all eight of its episodes on Thursday, Sept. 25. While you can expect to see those two Game of Thrones alums on screen (and some other familiar faces from fantasy and sci-fi TV shows), don't expect any dragons or larger-than-life battles going on in this particular show.

Inspired true events and one of the most enduring dynasties in Europe, House of Guinness takes in the 19th century as the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness leaves his four children reeling. As the mastermind behind the success of the Guinness brewery, Sir Benjamin's will has major impacts on his children Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O'Shea), as well as Dublin workers whose lives depend on the Guinness empire.
Gleeson plays the character Byron Hedges, and McElhatton plays John Potter. In addition to these cast members, House of Guinness also stars House of the Dragon season 3 star James Norton, Dervla Kirwan, Niamh McCormack, Shadow and Bone vet Danielle Galligan, Ann Skelly, Seamus O’Hara, David Wilmot, Michael Colgan, Jessica Reynolds, Hilda Fay, and Elizabeth Daulau.
Based on the premise surrounding a famous beer brand, the talented cast featuring recognizable stars from various hit television shows, and the connection to the beloved, fan-favorite binge-watch Peaky Blinders, there's no way that House of Guinness won't become one of the best new series of the year and one of the most popular.
If you're looking for more Game of Thrones stars on Netflix, the streamer just nabbed Margaery Tyrell actress Natalie Dormer for a leading role in the upcoming Extraction spinoff series based on the movies starring Chris Hemsworth. She'll appear in the series alongside Lupin star Omar Sy and The Sandman actor Boyd Holbrook. Looks like Netflix is turning into the place where we can see some of our favorite stars from Westeros in exciting new roles!
