Back when Good Omens premiered in 2019, it instantly became one of the standout shows on Prime Video. An adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it has a signature British wit about it, following the unlikely duo of demon Crowley (David Tennant) and angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) as they work together to prevent the Antichrist from coming to Earth.
Earlier this year, Prime Video announced that the feature movie finale—which they're oddly still referring to as “season 3”—would release on Wednesday, May 13. And this week, they debuted a pretty cool poster, containing a ton of Easter eggs. It's funny how both Crowley and Aziraphale cannot even look at each other. Plus if you zoom in, there's plenty of things hidden away. Take a look down below:

In addition to the poster, Prime Video has also teased a new arrival in the form of Jesus Christ... literally. In the teaser, we see a young and somewhat apathetic-looking Jesus walking into an elevator and choosing to return to Earth. This is how the second coming occurs, folks.

The messy timeline of Good Omens
Season 1 of Good Omens was a major success. It adapted the entire of the first novel, standing alone as a stellar limited series. However, it was later announced that a second season was on the way, covering story from an unpublished sequel that Gaiman and the late, great Terry Pratchett had worked on. Season 2, which introduced John Hamm as Gabriel, was quite messy and incoherent to say the least, but it kept a lot of fans invested and eager for more.
Of course, it ended on a major cliffhanger, after Crowley and Aziraphale awkwardly kissed in the finale. It was Crowley's desperate, last-ditch attempt to Aziraphale him from returning to Heaven.
A third season was officially ordered and announced by Prime Video in December 2023, with the plans to have a six-episode final season. However, this was ultimately changed following the allegations of sexual assault against showrunner and creator Neil Gaiman in 2024. The show's production went on hiatus.
In September 2024, Gaiman stepped down from showrunner duties, and the show was subsequently re-worked into one final feature movie.
Good Omens returns on May 13. It'll no doubt be the last foray into the Gaiman business for the streamer, after seemingly shelving their adaptation of Anansi Boys. Will it be worth watching? Maybe. But the Gaiman situation has cast a dark cloud over not only public interest, but also how the finale has been structured.
