As we recently heard from House of the Dragon star Matt Smith, filming continues on the highly anticipated third season of the HBO hit Game of Thrones prequel series. The cast and crew are hard at work and racing toward the end of production, which means they are getting into the biggest moments of the season, including the battles fans can't wait to see come to life.
During the extensive production period on House of the Dragon season 3, there have been numerous inescapable leaks from set, with photos revealing just enough for fans to piece together what to expect and when throughout the season. Some of these leaks have been ones fans aren't thrilled about, since they have confirmed changes from the book. But the latest will have fans excited.
If you aren't a fan who has read the books and doesn't know what's coming up next in House of the Dragon season 3, you might wish to remain unspoiled and not hear about the latest set leaks. But if you're a diehard fan or just want to know all of the chatter surrounding the season, we're going to share a tease that hints when a major battle and character death will happen!

House of the Dragon season 3 leak teases Butcher's Ball
According to a post shared on social media, Ser Criston Cole will be beheaded, with his impaled head fixed on a spear in a moment of triumph for Team Black. The popular fan account House the Dragons suggests that the scenes featuring Criston's head will be featured in season 3 episode 7, which was reportedly directed by Nina Lopez-Corrado, and were filmed in Hankley Common.
In the book, Ser Criston Cole, who is played in the series by Fabien Frankel, dies in a battle called Butcher's Ball, which we had previously speculated might be one of the big sequences adapted in season 3. The first big battle has been speculated to be Battle of the Gullet, which would happen at the beginning of the season, while the other could be Butcher's Ball (especially now with this leak).
House of the Dragon likely can't adapt every battle featured in the books that fans want to see because of the time it takes to film these large sequences as well as the budget necessary to make them look as brilliant as they do onscreen. But we could definitely be getting two of the best battles, including one that brings along a character death some fans have been waiting for.
Based on popular and fervent fan speculation on social media, it's believed that Butcher's Ball will take place in season 3 episode 6, and the fallout that includes the alleged scene of Criston's head on a spear will be featured in season 3 episode 7. From there, the season will end with The First Battle of Tumbleton in episode 8 for the big finish. That's quite the jam-packed end of the season.
