At long last, Netflix has given fans of Interview With The Vampire exactly what they’ve been waiting for. That's a release date for season 2. After some uncertainty, rumors about the show leaving the platform, and endless speculation on when the next installment would arrive, the criminally underrated gothic horror drama series is finally sinking its fangs back into the streaming world.
On Aug. 20, Netflix shared its list of new shows and movies coming to its platform in September 2025, and guess what show was included in the lineup? That would be Interview With The Vampire season 2. The second season is set to be released on Netflix on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2025. Although we don't have an exact release time, there's a good chance it will land on the streaming platform at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on Sept. 30. That's when Netflix usually drops new content on its platform. But again, this release time hasn't been confirmed.

We weren't sure if Interview With The Vampire season 2 would be coming to Netflix. The streaming giant first got the gothic horror in August 2024 through a licensing deal with AMC. At that time, only season 1 was added, and it was supposed to stay for just one year. The first season joined Netflix's library on Aug. 19, 2024, which means it should've departed the platform on Aug. 19, 2025. However, that didn't end up happening. Netflix decided to extend the series’ license. According to What's on Netflix, the first season will reportedly remain on the platform until Sept. 30, 2026.
This new extension date doesn't appear to be random. With season 2 arriving on Netflix on Sept. 30, 2025, the streaming giant probably has a one-year licensing deal for this installment. That means we would see the second season depart the streaming platform on the same date as the first season. That's if Netflix doesn't extend the deal again, which seems likely given the show’s growing popularity and the upcoming release of season 3 on AMC in 2026. However, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Rolin Jones created Interview With The Vampire. The first two seasons are based on Anne Rice’s iconic 1976 gothic horror novel of the same name, while the upcoming third season will adapt the second book in Rice's series, The Vampire Lestat. The cast is made up of talented actors such as
Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Bailey Bass, Assad Zaman, Delainey Hayles, Ben Daniels, and others.
Here's what Interview With The Vampire season 2 is about via the AMC website below:
"In the year 2022, the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Anderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Bogosian). Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the Vampire Armand (Zaman). Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories."
