The second season of Invincible, Prime Video's adaptation of Robert Kirkman's beloved superhero comic, ended back in April of 2024. Season 3 will start up on Thursday, February 6, 2025, not even a year later! In an age when it seems like new seasons of big TV take forever to come out, that's actually pretty good!
Here's the full episode release schedule for Invincible season 3:
- Episodes 301-303: Thursday, February 6
- Episodes 304: Thursday, February 13
- Episode 305: Thursday, February 20
- Episode 206: Thursday, February 27
- Episode 207: Thursday, March 6
- Episode 208: Thursday, March 13
New episodes on Prime Video generally come out at midnights on the west coast, which means they'll drop at 1:00 a.m. in the mountains, 2:00 a.m. in the central time zone, and 3:00 a.m. on the east coast. Whether you want to stay up late to catch the new episodes right as they drop or watch them after a good night's sleep is up to you.
Whenever Prime Video airs a new season of television, it has a habit of releasing the first three episodes all at once. That holds true for Invincible season 3. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this; it's kind of this uncomfortable middle ground between a Netflix-style "release all the episodes at once" approach and the more traditional linear television approach where you just put out one episode per week. I wish the folks at Prime Video would choose a lane, but it's not a big deal.
The buzz surrounding this new season of Invincible has been positive. The show has reached one of the most exciting stretches of the comic book series, where Mark Grayson, aka Invincible, must face down emissaries from the tyrannical Viltrumite empire; Mark himself is half-Viltrumite, which makes things dicey.
Robert Kirkman has said he could see Invincible running for 8-10 seasons. There's a lot of comic to cover. If the quality stays as high as it's been, that would be fine with me. That goes double if they're able to release new seasons in a timely manner. Let's hope the relatively short wait between seasons 2 and 3 is a sign of things to come.
