Between March and April 2026, three of the most anticipated superhero series will air simultaniously. These are The Boys season 5, Daredevil: Born Again season 2, and Invincible season 4. The latter has just debuted its first trailer, which is as bloody as expected, and confirms the March release date.
The funny thing about The Boys, Daredevil, and Invincible is that they all subvert the traditional view of superhero media. They're brutal, gritty and unforgiving. On the surface, Prime Video's animated series Invincible looks innocent enough, but the second you tune in, it's bloodier than most superhero shows out there — which checks out, since it is created by The Walking Dead's Robert Kirkman.
Invincible season 3 was the wildest yet. After refusing to prime Earth for takeover, the Viltrumites sent over Conquest to teach Mark a harsh lesson in responsibility. Conquest beat Invincible within in inch of his life. Their bout took things to the next level, smashing each other through buildings and leveling entire cities in a few punches. Conquest was ultimately defeated, but Planet Earth was left in a state of complete disrepair. Going into season 4, Mark gets no rest; quite the opposite. He faces threats from both outer space and his home planet.
The official synopsis reads: “While the world recovers from the global catastrophe of last season, a changed Mark struggles with guilt as he fights to protect his home and the people he loves, setting him on a collision course with a powerful new threat that could alter the fate of humanity forever.”
When does Invincible season 4 release on Prime Video?
As they did with season 3, Prime Video debuts Invincible with a 3-episode premiere on March 18th. Subsequent instalments will air weekly until April 22nd. There's 8 episodes in total, and no tedious mid-season break (clearly Prime Video learned their lesson after season 2).
Plenty of new cast members are joining for season 4, too. Of course, we've already seen so many former The Walking Dead actors take on roles, such as Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Lennie James, Michael Cudlitz, Ross Marquand, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. and so on. Now, Danai Gurira (who played Michonne in TWD) has joined the cast as Universa, a cut-throat enforcer for the Coalition of Planets. This marks Gurira's second superhero role; she currently plays the recurring role of Okoye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
