With A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms wrapping up its first season, fans are clamoring for anything they can get their hands on regarding season 2. The show's first outing, based on George R.R. Martin's novella "The Hedge Knight," the first of his Tales of Dunk and Egg series, struck a chord with audiences, who loved the season from start to finish.
Unfortunately, the second season, set to be based on Martin's second Dunk and Egg adventure, "The Sworn Sword," is still somewhat far off, with its confirmed 2027 release feeling like an eternity away for fans who want more as soon as possible. However, this week HBO revealed three new actors who will be joining Peter Claffey's Ser Duncan the Tall, a.k.a. Dunk, and his young squire, Prince Aegon "Egg" Targaryen, played by Dexter Sol Ansell, in the upcoming arc.
One of these casting announcements addresses a common criticism of the first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. While the first season's main cast proved to be stellar top to bottom, it still felt a little light on the femininity. While the likes of Tanselle (Tanzyn Crawford), Rowan (Rowan Robinson) and Gwin Ashford (Cara Harris) all made for fantastic characters, their prominence paled in comparison to their male counterparts. However, this new addition to the cast will likely be the series' most prominent female character to date, and will certainly steal just about every one of her scenes this season.

Presenting Lady Rohanne Webber
Lady Rohanne Webber acts as an antagonistic figure throughout "The Sworn Sword," who first crosses paths with Dunk and Egg when they discover a dam she commissioned has dried up a local stream. When the workman refuse to take down the dam, Dunk's fellow sworn sword Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield (set to be portrayed by Alien: Earth's Babou Ceesay) kills one, leading to fears of Rohanne's retaliation.
Before physically appearing in "The Sworn Sword," Dunk's perception of Rohanne proves to be completely inaccurate. Known as the "Red Widow" due to how many of her previous husbands had died, with some smallfolk believing that she had a hand in many of their demises, Dunk pictured a terrifying older woman, not a young beauty who he himself found attractive. Their romantic tension stands out as one of the strongest elements of "The Sworn Sword," and will certainly be a blast to see on screen.
Lady Rohanne is a skilled archer who leans into her fearsome reputation. She embraces the "Red Widow" nickname simply for the increased fear factor. Eventually, long after the events of "The Sworn Sword," Lady Rohanne marries Gerald Lannister, making her the grandmother of the iconic Game of Thrones character Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance). It's plain to see that ferocity runs in the family.

Where have you seen Lucy Boynton before?
When it was revealed that actress Lucy Boynton would take on the role of Rohanne Webber, Dunk and Egg fans instantly agreed that the Sing Street star would be the perfect performer to bring the iconic Lady to life. The British actress seems like a great fit for the world of Dunk and Egg.
Boynton made her film debut in 2006 in Miss Potter, taking on the role of the younger version of iconic author Beatrix Potter. Since then, Boynton has acted in a number of huge films and television series, including John Carney's Golden Globe nominated Sing Street, in which she steals the show as aspiring model Rafina, and appears opposite another performer who made a huge splash in Westeros, Aidan Gillan, also known as Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish.
To date, Boynton's biggest film is arguably the Oscar winning biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the story of Queen front man Freddie Mercury. Boynton plays the role of Mary Austin, Mercury's ex-fiancé and close friend. For her work in the film, the Screen Actors Guild nominated Boynton for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Coincidentally, Aidan Gillan also appears in Bohemian Rhapsody with Boynton.

Boynton has also been a big name in television for some time. She has appeared in a number of big series as a main role, including Netflix's Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Dramady series, The Politician, in which she plays the rival of series lead Payton Hobart, portrayed by Ben Platt.
Boynton also plays a small role in Greta Grewig's billion dollar Best Picture nominee Barbie, where she portrays Proust Barbie. While most of Boynton's role was sadly reduced in the final film, eagle-eyed fans can still catch her.
Boynton's talent, poise, and past work make her the perfect choice to portray the always iconic Lady Rohanne Webber, and this casting announcement only makes the wait for season 2 feel even longer. In the meantime, make sure to stream A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1 on HBO Max.
