IMDb, the internet's all-purpose repository of information related to movies and TV, gets over 250 million visitors per month. You can learn a lot by looking at where those visitors are going. Recently, the site gave us a clue by making a list of 10 original series coming in 2025 that people are most excited to see, based on which shows consistently ranked high on IMDbPro's weekly TV rankings in 2024.

So what are original series are people most looking forward to? Here's how IMDb figures it:

  1. Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+, March)
  2. Alien: Earth (FX, summer)
  3. IT: Welcome to Derry (HBO/Max, 2025)
  4. Suits: L.A. (NBC, February 23)
  5. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (HBO/Max, 2025)
  6. American Primeval (Netflix, January 9)
  7. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (Disney+, January 19)
  8. NCIS: Tony & Ziva (Paramount+, 2025)
  9. El Turco (February)
  10. Ironheart (Disney+, June 24)

There's a lot of sci-fi and fantasy represented on this list. It's no great shock that Daredevil: Born Again is at the top; people have a lot of love for the original Daredevil show and are looking forward to this revival. Alien: Earth is the first-ever TV show set in the Alien universe, IT: Welcome to Derry will dive into the past of the popular IT movies, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a new Game of Thrones prequel series. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Ironheart both prove the enduring staying power of Marvel.

I can't help but notice that even though these are all original series, all but two are spinoffs of existing properties. Suits: L.A. is a spinoff of the popular legal drama Suits and NCIS: Tony & Ziva is a spinoff of the popular cop drama NCIS. American Primeval is a western series that will examine the clash between religion and culture on the American frontier, while El Turco is a historical series set during the height of the Ottoman empire. That's the only show on this list I hadn't heard about at all, although it's coming pretty soon.

We're not kidding when we say there's a lot of great stuff on the way in 2025. For contrast, we put together our own list that includes both original shows and returning series. Check that out here:
