New clues hint The Wheel of Time season 3 is coming sooner than we thought

It's been more than one year since The Wheel of Time season 2 finale was released on Prime Video. It's safe to say that fans are anxiously awaiting any and all news about The Wheel of Time season 3. While we haven't heard anything official from the creative team, cast, or Prime Video yet, the evidence that The Wheel of Time season 3 is coming soon is starting to add up.

Most recently, Josha Stradowski, who stars as Rand al'Thor, shared a picture on his Instagram Stories. He captioned it, "London WOT press... ...," which is very, very interesting.

If Stradowski is doing press for the show right now, we could see The Wheel of Time within the next few months! Unfortunately, we know the new season is coming in 2025. It will not be released this year, just to be clear.

For those who don't know, usually, actors and creatives do press and promo before a new season or film premieres. Every show is different in how long they promote the new season. There are a lot of factors, and we don't know what kind of press Stradowski was doing.

But for Stradowski to even be doing press for The Wheel of Time right now means that we're close to the new season premiering on Prime Video. Usually, for Prime Video, Netflix, and other streamers, the cast and creative team will begin to do press starting at least a few months in advance building up to the season premiere. I would guess that we'll see The Wheel of Time season 3 on Prime Video by the spring of 2025, at the latest. It could even be earlier than that.

It's not like this is the only clue we've seen that suggests The Wheel of Time season 3 is coming soon, either. In October 2024, WoT UP!, The Wheel of Time channel on YouTube, suggested that VFX on season 3 had finished or was almost finished, which is a huge sign that the release date is coming up shortly.

Then, WoT UP! uploaded its first new episode in about a month on Monday, November 18. The host, Jon, said his sources are telling him that The Wheel of Time season 3 is coming in March. He revealed that he knew the date, but he was asked not to share it. He was told that he could share the month.

"We're pretty close to the release of season 3 of The Wheel of Time," Jon said. "I keep hearing over and over and over again, it's March, March, March, March with a specific date in mind, as well. And, I'm hearing it from multiple different people."

It's not official, of course, but that release window lines up with what we've been hoping for. Since The Wheel of Time season 2 ended, it looked like the earliest we'd see the new season was in the spring of 2025. It appears Prime Video is going to stick with that window if the latest rumors are to be believed.

I was worried that we'd have to wait until the fall of 2025 to watch The Wheel of Time season 3. The first two seasons of the series premiered in the late summer/early fall. We've also seen two seasons of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power premiere in late summer/early fall on Prime Video. Either the seasons just lined up for fall premieres or Prime Video likes releasing new seasons of fantasy shows during that time of year. We don't know, but it looks like Prime Video is poised to break out of that schedule with The Wheel of Time season 3.

So, that's the latest buzz from the world of The Wheel of Time. We should learn a lot more about the new season and the release date for season 3 in the coming weeks. Prime Video could share the news at any time!
