Monkey D. Luffy and his crew will soon be setting out for more adventures on Netflix in the second season of One Piece!
One Piece is a rare beast: a live-action adaptation of a beloved manga and anime that won over new viewers and diehard fans alike. Adapting the long-running series from Eiichiro Oda, it’s set in a vast oceanic world where pirate crews compete to find a legendary treasure.
The show was a huge success with viewers and thankfully earned a second season renewal, with a third season already in the works. Netflix has just confirmed that season 2 will premiere on March 10, 2026. That comes with new images and word from the producers on what to expect when the Straw Hats pick up their adventures!

What’s coming in One Piece season 2?
Season 1 ended with the Straw Hats crew coming together. Bendable pirate captain Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy), swordsman Roronoa Zoro (Mackenyu), cartographer Nami (Emily Rudd), storyteller Usopp (Jacob Romero), and chef Sanji (Taz Skylar) were united in their quest to set out for the Grand Line, a deadly stretch of ocean which may lead to the treasure of former pirate king Gold Roger.
Season 2 ups the stakes with more adventure, including the introduction of characters like Miss Wednesday (Charithra Chandran) and more challenges for our heroes. We'll also see new locations such as Loguetown, where pirate king Gold Roger (Michael Dorman) was executed; Reverse Mountain, a perilous summit with a river that flows upward; the pirate-friendly island of Whiskey Peak; and the prehistoric island of Little Garden.
Co-showrunner, writer and executive producer Joe Tracz talked to Tumdum about the second season, comparing it to Game of Thrones. “Drum Kingdom is a winter island. It’s our medieval Winterfell Game of Thrones location, where you have this haunted-seeming castle at the top of a snowy mountain inhabited by someone the villagers say is a witch," he said.
Tracz added how season 2 will be even more dramatic, since now that the Straw Hats have made their pledges on what they want to accomplish in their adventures, they have to live up to them.
"At the end of the first season, our characters made this pledge around a barrel to achieve their dreams, and in Season 2, we put those dreams to the test. Every island we visit in the Grand Line is going to challenge one of the Straw Hats in a unique way, and they’re going to learn that, to fulfill their dreams, they have to rely on each other. Everything gets bigger. We are going to see giants and dinosaurs. We end up in the belly of a whale. Basically, our mantra for Season 2 is, ‘scale it all up.’"
That’s great news for fans of the anime who know how wild things will get for our heroes. With a third season already ordered, there’s going to be much more of the anime to see come to life to make One Piece even better in season 2.
One Piece season 2 premieres March 10, 2026 on Netflix.
