The eighth and final season of Outlander is barreling towards us, as much as that upsets fans. Sometime soon, this epic journey through space, time and love will be over.

But there's still lots left to enjoy before the mourning starts. The final season will draw from Outlander author Diana Gabaldon's book Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone, which definitely deserves a spot in the Awesome Titles Hall of Fame. Anyway, in that book, Brianna Fraser and Roger MacKenzie (played on TV by Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin respectively) welcome a third child: David William Ian Fraser MacKenzie, the boy with the longest name; people call him Davy for short. Will Davy feature in the final season?

“Yes, in the books, Brianna and Roger have another baby,” Skelton told TVLine. “As you know, we sometimes stick to the books, and we sometimes don’t. But I think it would be great if they had another child. And wearing the fake pregnancy bumps is super fun, so sign me up.”

"I’m a child of three, and I think three is a great number. So that would be super fun, if it was in Season 8."

This isn't a confirmation, but it certainly sounds like an enthusiastic endorsement; I think fans would be safe in assuming Davy will make his debut whenever season 8 airs, which could be later this year or possibly early in 2026. Before season 8 premieres, Starz will be airing a new Outlander prequel show called Blood of My Blood, which will follow Jamie and Claire Fraser's separate sets of parents back when they were still falling in love themselves.

At the end of Outlander season 7, Brianna looked like she wanted to move her family from the 20th century to the 18th. Sure, indoor plumbing isn't what it will be and there are a lot more diseases around, but her parents live in the past, and it'll be nice to live with them. Also, Roger and Brianna's other two kids, Jem and Mandy, were both born in the 18th century, so maybe the parents want the set to match. Jem went through a whole thing in the seventh season where he was kidnapped; let's hope the kids have an easier time of it as the show enters its endgame.
