There is no argument that Pedro Pascal is one of the most popular actors working today, gaining fame from the likes of Game of Thrones to The Mandalorian. While Pascal has been busy on the Marvel side of Disney, having starred in The Fantastic Four: First Steps and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, his return as Mandalorian Din Djarin has been confirmed by a fellow costar.
While at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sigourney Weaver, who is no stranger to the world of science fiction, spoke to Collider while promoting her thriller film Dust Bunny (in which she stars alongside Mads Mikkelsen and Sophie Sloan). Unsurprisingly, the conversation shifted to The Mandalorian & Grogu.

Weaver made it clear that the upcoming Star Wars film is "a different world,” and confirmed "it will have Pedro Pascal.” This is both exciting and reassuring news as Pascal's role as one of the two main characters varied from voice acting to donning the beskar armor, helmet, and all.
With his busy schedule and filming under wraps, it wasn't clear how involved Pascal was going to be. In addition to his role in the MCU, the actor starred in two other movies this year—Materialists and Eddington—and reprised his role as Joel in The Last of Us season 2. Up next, he has several parts in the works, reportedly including the revived Todd Haynes movie De Noche and potentially a movie from Andor's Tony Gilroy.
With his busy schedule, Pascal did not physically appear in The Mandalorian season 3, instead opting to voice-act the part with other actors taking on the in-person role.
As for Weaver's character, however, a lot remains unknown.
The only clue thus far, since the official trailer has yet to be released, is that she will be playing a character wearing an X-wing jumpsuit. But does that necessarily mean she's one of the good guys?
As the Star Wars universe continues to expand, there are countless opportunities for where the film's story could go for Din Djarin and his adopted, Force-sensitive apprentice Grogu. Three seasons of the wildly successful and popular The Mandalorian are just the beginning.
