Believe it or not, it's been over three months since HBO last dropped a teaser trailer for House of the Dragon season 2, whetting fans' appetites ahead of a return to Westeros this summer. What will characters like Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen and Alicent Hightower get up to when this Game of Thrones prequel series returns? By the looks of things in the teaser trailer, a whole lot of exciting stuff:

But a lot of time has passed since then, and it can't be long before HBO drops a longer, proper-sized trailer on its parched fanbase. It could come today. It could come tomorrow. It could come in April. But it's coming, and we're already anticipating what wonders it's going to show us.

So what do we want from the first proper trailer for House of the Dragon season 2? Let us count the ways:

1. Dragons fighting dragons

During the time of Game of Thrones, the world had only three dragons, and they all belonged to Daenerys Targaryen. During the time of House of the Dragon, over 100 years before Game of Thrones, the big flying lizards are everywhere, as are their silver-haired Targaryen riders. Now that rival branches of the Targaryen family are engaged in a civil war, that means we could see dragons fighting dragons in the air. In fact, if you've read the source materials for House of the Dragon — George R.R. Martin's book Fire & Blood — you know that's exactly what's going to happen.

In particular, we expect to see dragons clash at the Battle of Rook's Rest, a huge battle scene we know that the cast and crew of House of the Dragon spent a long time filming. A fight scene where two human combatants go at it can be stressful enough to watch. What I want is for the House of the Dragon to capture the enormity and power of two massive flying beasts trying to kill each other and middair. I want to be terrified and awed, and I want to see a preview of that in the trailer.
