Aegon and Aemond actors happily trash House of the Dragon characters ahead of season 2

Tom Glynn-Carney (Aegon Targaryen) and Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen) have some delightfully spicy thoughts about the characters on House of the Dragon.

We're just over a month out from the premiere of House of the Dragon season 2. The first season introduced us to a wide cast of characters, many of them from the Targaryen dynasty. In the second season, they'll go to war with each other by land, sea and air. Who will sit on the Iron Throne by the end? Will it be Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, supported by her Blacks? Or will it be King Aegon II Targaryen, with the support of his Greens?

Ahead of the premiere, the cast is getting out there to promote the show. A new video released on the Max YouTube channel has stars Tom Glynn-Carney (King Aegon) and Ewan Mitchell (his brother Aemond) answering questions about the characters, and taking whatever oppourtunity they can to trash them. Watch below:

For instance, they were asked who on Team Green they wouldn't want to bring home to their parents. Mitchell initially chooses his own character Aemond, which makes sense — this is the guy who accidentally killed his own nephew when they happened to run into each other at Storm's End — but apparently choosing your own character is against the rules, so he opts for famously unstable Kingsguard member Criston Cole instead. "Especially if we have those little markers around the table," Mitchell quipped. "He would just smash someone's head into it."

Meanwhile, Glynn-Carney chose Helaena Targaryen, King Aegon's distractable wife...and also his sister, because that's how Targaryens roll. "I'd have to do a lot of explaining, and a lot of filling empty gaps in the conversation, because she's be stroking a rat somewhere, or staring out the window."

Aemond and Helaena also came up when the guys were asked which member of Team Green they'd want as an emergency contact. Although again, Glynn-Carney doesn't seem to have much confidence in his TV wife. "She wouldn't pick a phone up, mate."

Glynn-Carney also had a great answer when asked who on Team Black he wouldn't want to take fashion advice from, naming Rhaenyra's eldest son Jacaerys Velaryon, or Jace as his friends call him. "Just dweeb," Glynn-Carney said. "Dweeb, don't care about his opinions on anything." Jace is a bit of a goodie-goodie type, at least in this show where every other character is either murdering or marrying close relatives.

Finally, the guys were asked which member of Team Green would be better at trash talk. They agree that Aemond or Aegon would probably be at the front of the line, foreshadowing some spicy scenes for the brothers ahead. Although Glynn-Carney is a little incredulous that Mitchell keeps choosing Aemond, his own character, in answer to these questions. "I just love him!" Mitchell reasons.

And fair. Aemond may have killed his own nephew, and he may have an inflated sense of his own leadership abilities, and he may be eager to fight his uncle Daemon in combat purely because of ego, but all those red flags are what make him fun to watch. He'll be back in action along with the rest of these freaks when House of the Dragon season 2 premieres on Sunday, June 16.
