Every year, a different artist is chosen to illustrate a Song of Ice and Fire calendar, with each month dedicated to a different location on Westeros and Essos, the continents dreamed up by author George R.R. Martin in his books. For 2025, that artist is Eddie Mendoza, who has been sharing a lot of the images from the calendar on his Artstation and Instagram pages.
The calendar is on sale now. To entice you, take a look at some of the gorgeous artwork within, starting with the cover, which depicts Starfall, the ancestral seat of House Dayne from Dorne:
We never visited Starfall on Game of Thrones, HBO's adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire. Even in the books, we only heard about the place. The 2025 calendar is big on lesser-known locations from the World of Ice and Fire, although there are some familiar locales too. Take a look at the slider from Mendoza's Instagram below, which shows off several illustrations, starting with one of Qarth, the city on Essos which Daenerys Targaryen visited for a spell when her dragons were still babies:
Clicking through this post, we also visit the seaside city of Braavos, where Arya Stark trained with the Faceless Men; the Nightfort, one of the forts along the Wall; the island of Skagos, an island we never visited in the books or on TV but which is said to be inhabited by cannibals; Moat Cailin, a fort that separates the North from the rest of Westeros; and the Water Gardens, the Dornish sanctuary where Doran Martell plotted and planned.
Most of those are little-seen in either Game of Thrones or the books. If you want something more familiar, Mendoza has also depicted Dragonstone, the ancestral seat of House Targaryen that features prominently on both Game of Thrones and in House of the Dragon:
And the hits keep coming. Although we won't post everything right here, Mendoza has also turned in gorgeous renderings of the Dreadfort, where the Boltons skinned the enemies for generations; Hellholt, the keep of House Uller in Dorne; the Inn at the Crossroads, the Riverlands inn where so many characters have met; and the Planky Town in Dorne.
Once again, the 2025 Song of Ice and Fire calendar is on sale now!
