Does Civil War have a post-credits sequence? Can you stream Civil War?

Civil War, director Alex Garland's new movie about a group of photo-journalists making their way across a dystopian United States in the midst of a brutal war (but not in a political way, apparently) is out now in theaters. Does the movie have one of those post-credits sequences that's become de riguer for so many films since Marvel Studios movies started doing them back in the late 2010s?

Well, as Marvel's cache has dropped, so have movies stopped using so many post-credits sequences. Civil War does not have a post-credits sequence in the traditional sense. However, we do see an important photo appear about about mid-way through the credits. Beware SPOILERS below.

In Civil War, the U.S. government is fighting the Western Forces, a group of states who rebelled after the president (Nick Offerman) stayed in office for an illegal third term. For most of the movie, the photo journalists are trying to reach the White House before the Western Forces arrive. Over the end credits, we see a photo taken by Jessie (Cailee Spaeny), which shows us how this conflict ends: it shows members of the Western Forces in the White House standing over the body of the president.

So it looks like the Civil War is over. If you hadn't seen the movie in theaters yet and just had it spoiled for you, I apologize. If you want to see it anyway but don't want to go to a movie theater, you may be wondering...

Can you stream Civil War anywhere?

For the moment, Civil War is only in theaters. Eventually, it will be available to to rent or buy on services like Vudu, Apple and Amazon. It will also be available to stream on Max, which has inked a deal to host movies made by studio A24. So don't expect to see Civil War on Netflix or Hulu or anything, at least not for a long while. If you want to watch the movie on a streaming service, you either want to subscribe to Max or rent/buy it from somewhere like Amazon.

Generally speaking, new movies because available on streaming services about 45 days after they arrive in theaters, so expect Civil War to be available in late May.
