Tomorrow, Peacock will drop all 10 episodes of Those About To Die, a new historical series set in ancient Rome. Roland Emmerich, the director behind action classics like Independence Day, is directing several of the episodes as well as producing. The trailer looks epic.

On Those About to Die, we'll get to know the imperial family in charge of the empire, members of the patrician class, members of Rome's criminal underbelly, and gladiators fighting in the pits for the entertainment of the masses. "Those who are about to die salute you" is what gladiators reporteldy said to the emperor before fighting. This show goes out to them.

And if you're wondering, yes, that is acting legend Anthony Hopkins as Emperor Vespasian. The show has some great talent in the cast. Game of Thrones fans will recognize Iwan Rheon (Ramsey Bolton) as Tenax, a charioteer who hopes to profit off the games.

Sara Martins stars as Cala, a Numidian trader who's son Kwame (Moe Hashim) is sold into gladiator training. Peacock was kind enough to give us an exclusive clip featuring the two of them. In this scene, Kwame is about to enter the auditorium to fight, and Cala makes sure they both understand that he's going to survive and see his family again:

If this scene is any indication, there will be some heart-tugging drama in this show. I hope really hope they do see each other again!

To find out whether that happens, check out all 10 episodes of Those About to Die when it drops on Peacock on Thursday, July 18. With Gladiator 2 also coming out later this year on November 22, maybe a new age of great Roman epics is upon us. I wouldn't complain.
