Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis, aka Neville Longbottom, is weighing in on who he would like to play if he was to be cast in the Harry Potter TV reboot currently in development at Max. And nope, it is not who you think it is.

While speaking on a panel alongside Potter costar Jason Isaacs at MegaCon in Orlando, Lewis shared his thoughts on who he would love to play, and the answer might surprise you. Honestly, if I had to guess, I would say that he would just want to keep playing Neville because of how epic his story is in the movies and how it comes to a close. But that is not who Lewis had in mind.

Find out who he would like to play below!

“Gosh, I have no idea. It’s very difficult as well because everyone just did such a wonderful job,” said Lewis when asked who he would play in the new show. “I genuinely don’t think there’s anyone that I would want to even attempt to play.” He said that his days of playing Neville Longbottom are long gone as he is "too old to play Neville again," However, after mulling it over for a bit, he decided that playing Remus Lupin, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and werewolf, is what he would want.

Originally, the part of Lupin was portrayed by David Thewlis, who Lewis said he could never match, but if he had to pick a character to play, it would be Lupin.

On the other hand, Jason Isaacs, who played Lucius Malfoy, joked around that he would just play Dobby the elf. Who wouldn't love that?! Can you imagine the character who bossed around Dobby playing him? I would love to see that!

The Harry Potter TV reboot will focus on the books, just like the movies. Each season will adapt a different book, and reintroduce the Harry Potter story to a generation that did not grow up reading the books or watching the movies.

I'm guessing the hope is that they rope in a whole new audience thereby paving the path for future TV shows that are focused on other parts of the Harry Potter mythology. I would love to see a show about the four founders of Hogwarts, or something about the Deathly Hallows. But I suppose before they can get there, they need to cast a wider net and get everyone on the same page.

So, go ahead Warner Bros., do what you have to do, but the OG fans are waiting for what comes next. And that includes seeing Lewis as Remus Lupin and Isaacs as Dobby. Make it happen!
