House of the Dragon season 2 content ratings include "strong sexual content" and "violence"
By Dan Selcke
The second season of House of the Dragon is now underway, and the first episode threw down the gauntlet with an extremely disturbing scene at the end that left the young Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen dead. Jaehaerys' mother Helaena then ran into her mother Alicent's room to find her having sex with the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard Criston Cole.
Game of Thrones didn't shy away from sex and violence and neither does House of the Dragon. Looking forward to the next three episodes, they also come with a variety of content labels that suggest more to come. According to @westerosies, here's what's in store for Episodes 202, 203 and 204:
- Episode 202: Adult content & language, brief nudity, violence
- Episode 203: Adult content & language, strong sexual content, violence
- Episode 204: Adult content & language, violence
It's hard to predict exactly what that all entails, but if you've watched Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon before, you probably have a rough idea. Violence is never far off in this universe, especially now that Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and King Aegon Targaryen are at war over the Iron Throne. We have it on good authority that Episode 204 will feature a spectacular battle scene, but there should be plenty of violcence to spare before that. As for sex, Alicent and Criston will likely continue their affair, in addition to whatever other surprises the show springs on us.
The next episode of House of the Dragon will air Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. CST on HBO and Max. There will be six more episodes after that until the end of the second season, all of them coming on Sundays.
