We're now in the thick of the second season of House of the Dragon, HBO's fantasy show where dragons fight dragons and no one is happy. The first season of the show ran for 10 episodes back in 2022. This time around, HBO is only giving us eight episodes, which means we're exactly halfway through the season.
HBO keeps the episode titles to itself until after the new episodes air, and we don't know the run times until a few weeks in advance. Here's the complete lineup of episodes for House of the Dragon season 2, with all the information we know about them so far:
- Episode 201, "A Son for a Son": June 16 (1 hour, 4 minutes)
- Episode 202, "Rhaenyra the Cruel": June 23 (1 hour, 12 minutes)
- Episode 203, "The Burning Mill": June 30 (1 hour, 10 minutes)
- Episode 204, "The Red Dragon and the Gold": July 7 (56 minutes)
- Episode 205: July 14 (1 hour, 7 minutes)
- Episode 206: July 21 (1 hour, 10 minutes)
- Episode 207: July 28 (1 hour, 7 minutes)
- Episode 208: August 4
Although there are fewer episodes overall, at least the lengths are a bit meatier. In season 1, episodes ran as short as 54 minutes and as long as 67. In season 2, the shortest episode so far as been 56 minutes and the longest 72. We don't know the runtime for the finale yet.
It's disappointed that we're getting less House of the Dragon this year than last, although it sounds like things were moved around for storytelling reasons. The show is already renewed for season 3, so we'll see what happens next sooner or later.
