Before Netflix dropped the third season of The Witcher last year, we learned that Henry Cavill — the actor who had played lead character Geralt of Rivia since the series premeire — was exiting the show, despite the fact that the story was not yet fully told. The reasons why he left remain unclear. Netflix soon announced that The Hunger Games veteran Liam Hemsworth would replace Cavill for seasons 4 and 5, which we've heard will round out the series. Season 4 is filming even now.

Geralt spends a lot of time hunting monsters, fighting sorcerers, and taking baths. If you're on camera, a muscular physique helps with all of these activities. Hence, Liam Hemsworth appears to be getting jacked in the gym:

I like how it's "#legday" but his legs are hidden under some formless sweats while his arms hang loose looking like he shoved bushels of ripe fruit under his skin.

And actually, we're not sure if he is indeed getting into shape for The Witcher or if he was just in the gym and felt like snapping a selfie. The idea that a celebrity with a good body needs a particular reason to show it off feels like rationalization to me. Whatever Hemsworth's reason, evildoers on the Continent had best fear his guns.

Hemsworth thanks people for watching Land of Bad, a military action movie that opened in February. We don't know exactly when the fourth season of The Witcher will drop on Netflix, but a 2025 release seems likely.
