Yesterday, Netflix dropped the first season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, its live-action remake of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series. The show introduces people to a whole new set of actors playing their favorite characters. Fans have taken a particular interest in Sebastian Amoruso, who plays smooth-talking freedom fighter Jet in the show's third episode, "Omashu."

According to The Direct, Amoruso is 24 years old, quite a bit older than Jet, who is 16. (He would have been a year or two younger when he filmed the role, to be fair.) He lives in Los Angeles. Amoruso didn't have many screen credits before joining the cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender; he appeared in a couple episodes of the Snapchat original show Solve and played Johnny in the Amazon Prime Video show I Know What You Did Last Summer. Perhaps playing Jet on Avatar will be his breakout role.

Amoruso attended the Berklee College of Music and attended New York's Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center. In can play several instruments, including guitar, drums, piano and violin. Like several other members of the Avatar cast, he has martial arts training. Also sometimes he looks like this on his Instagram:

Will there be a season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix?

The original Avatar: The Last Airbender show had three seasons, and it feels like that's what the Netflix remake wants too. That said, Netflix has not revealed whether it's ordering a second season.

The show has only been out for a day, so it's probably too early to expect that. Whether Avatar gets a new season will depend on how many people watch it. As I write this, it's the most-watched show on the platform, which is a good sign.

Still, Netflix will probably need more time to make a decision. When One Piece, another live-action remake of an animated show, dropped on Netflix in 2023, it took them about two weeks before they announced a renewal. We'll keep a look out.
