No, the "leaked" pages from House of the Dragon season 2 aren't real

Between fake script pages for House of the Dragon and a poster for a new Game of Thrones prequel series, fans are having a blast on April Fools Day!

The second season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is on its way! The premiere drops on June 17 on both HBO and Max. Now that the Seven Kingdoms are officially at war, what will become of characters like Rhaenyra Targaryen, Alicent Hightower, and Jacaerys Velaryon? It's family member vs family member, friend vs friend and dragon vs dragon. Anything can happen, and we all know the Game of Thrones universe's reputation for killing off characters. Fans could be forgiven for getting nervous and trying to look up what comes next.

But don't believe everything you read online. @ladywolfknightx on Twitter/X claims to have found pages from the season 2 finale of House of the Dragon "on the ground outside HBO headquarters." What I like especially is that they've gone to the trouble of making these actually look like real, printed-out script pages:

Immediately, it's pretty clear that this is a fun April Fools Day joke, as HBO mostly insists on digital scripts these days to prevent exactly this kind of hypothetical situation, but I appreciate the commitment to realism.

The scene purports to show former best friends-turned bitter rivals Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower meeting on Dragonstone in the season 2 finale, which is titled "The Mother's Hymn." After a season of brutal war, Alicent suggests that Queen Rhaenyra split up the Seven Kingdoms with Alicent's son King Aegon, Rhaenyra's half-brother. Rhaenyra refuses, and lets slip that her father entrusted her with protecting the realm from a dreadful evil dreamed about by Aegon the Conqueror. Then Alicent tells Rhaenyra about King Viserys' last words, expresses regret, and then Rhaenrya passionately kisses her. And if you didn't know these pages were for April Fools before, you probably do now.

It's fun fanfic! You can read the pages here. And as long as we're talking about April Fools jokes, I'm digging this poster about another Game of Thrones prequel show in production:
