Marvel is in the news a lot lately, and not because it's suffering body blows in the form of underperforming movies like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania or The Marvels. This weekend, Deadpool & Wolverine is prepared to tear up the box office. And beyond that, Marvel Studios has exciting projects like Fantastic Four in the works!

The Fantastic Four are one of Marvel's oldest superhero families: there's the stretchy Reed Richard (Pedro Pascal), his wife Sue Storm, aka the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Sue's brother Johnny, aka the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and the rock-solid Ben Grimm, aka the Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach). They spend their time fighting villains, having family arguments, and being iconic. This new movie will be the first time the Fantastic Four have appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since before 20th Century Fox controlled their movie rights. Disney purchased the studio in 2019, so now pretty much every Marvel hero is under one roof, so far as the movies are concerned.

The cast is full of buzzy stars. Between roles in shows like The Mandalorian and movies like Gladiator II, Pedro Pascal is one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. Joseph Quinn, who's also in Gladiator II, has blown up since his star turn in Stranger Things season 4. Vanessa Kirby impressed audiences with her turn on The Crown, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is on the buzzy show The Bear. Taking to Instagram, Pascal posted the first shot of the four of them assembled for work:

The buzz on the new Fantastic Four movie is good. The vibes are right. Will that actually translate to a good movie people will pay lots of money to see? We'll find out when the film hits theaters on July 25, 2025.
