Resident Alien season 4 is confirmed (but it's switching networks)

Our favorite alien will return. Resident Alien season 4 is officially happening, but it won't air on Syfy. Here's what we know!

There is some great news for fellow Resident Alien fans. The sitcom is returning for a fourth season, with Alyn Tudyk once again playing an extraterrestrial trying to figure out life on Earth. There is a change coming, though.

TVLine reports that the series isn’t going to remain on Syfy. Instead, USA Network will air Resident Alien season 4. I’m of two minds about that: I feel like the show belongs on Syfy, but at least it’s renewed. The great news is that Alan Tudyk and the rest of the cast will return, and more importantly, Chris Sheridan will remain as the showrunner.

We don't know the release date yet. I wouldn’t expect the season until 2025 at the earliest.

Resident Alien season 4 episode count not confirmed yet

We don’t have an episode count for the season either. The first season had 10 episodes, while the second season got 16 episodes with a large midseason break in between. Season 3 had eight episodes.

As much as I love time with the characters, I also love how contained the first and third seasons were. Eight to 10 episodes is working well for this series.

What to expect in Resident Alien season 4

Of course, the storyline for the season isn’t being shared. With the renewal just happening, it’s likely that only the broad idea for the storyline has been talked about.

The third season left us with a lot of questions. For one, Harry is no longer Harry. There’s a new alien living in Harry’s house, and only Max has the ability to see through the cloaking. It won’t take long for the Harry imposter to work this out, but will Max be able to warn others first?

We caught up with Harry and his son Bridget trapped in the moon, which is where the Grey Aliens do all their experiments and torture humans. Back on Earth, Mike has finally got the proof that aliens are real. He doesn’t want to believe this though, so will he find a way to explain the alien away? Will he turn to Liv and discuss this with her, accepting that she has been right this whole time? There are so many possibilities.

Finally, what about Kate? D'Arcy last saw her being taken by the Grey Aliens. Now Kate is back. At least, that's if this really is Kate and not a Grey Alien taking her place.
