AMC has done a stellar job at continuing The Walking Dead franchise following the conclusion of the main show in 2022. Between Maggie and Negan's adventures in Manhattan in Dead City and Daryl Dixon's foray to France, there's plenty of exciting things going on to keep viewers engaged.

Up next is perhaps the most exciting spinoff of all. Subtitled The Ones Who Live, the six-episode series marks the triumphant return of beloved duo Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira). When we last saw Rick, he was being carried away, barely alive, in a Civic Republic helicopter in season 9. And one season later, Michonne went out into the world alone in search of him.

Fast forward to now, and Rick is a member of the Civic Republic while Michonne is still out in the wilderness looking for clues to his whereabouts. Amid all of this, Rick is caught up in the destruction caused by the Civic Republic. Here's the official logline for the series:

"The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?"

At long last, just over a month before the show premieres, AMC has finally dropped a trailer for the series. Check it out:

Costing approximately $13.7 million per episode, The Ones Who Live has the largest budget of any Walking Dead spinoff to date. Compare this to Dead City, which had a reported budget of $12 million per episode. The money poured into this series definitely shows; it looks absolutely stunning.

Besides Rick and Michonne, the spinoff also sees the return of former junkyard leader turned Civic Republic general Jadis (Pollyanna McInstosh). We'll also meet Civic Republic Major General Beale, played by Lost star Terry O'Quinn.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premieres February 25 on AMC.
