See Antony Starr (Homelander from The Boys) on the Iron Throne
By Dan Selcke
HBO has gone all out to promote the second season of House of the Dragon, including by installing a huge Iron Throne in the Empire State Building in New York City where fans can come and sit. Now, Antony Starr — the actor who plays the sociopathic superhero Homelander on Amazon Prime Video's show The Boys — has availed himself of that opportunity:
We're not likely to ever get a crossover between The Boys and House of the Dragon, arguably the two biggest genre series airing right now. If this is as close as we can come, I'll take it. HBO's marketing for House of the Dragon has pushed the idea of the Greens vs the Blacks, the two sides in the upcoming Targaryen civil war. Technically, the Empire State Building is a Green site. Does this mean Antony Starr is declaring for King Aegon and against Queen Rhaenyra? Probably not, but let me have fun.
I don't know Antony Starr, but I imagine Homelander wanting to sit on the Iron Throne. Right now on The Boys, he's plotting a takeover of the U.S. government, but he has to hatch plans and work with lawmakers and lay groundwork. How much easier would it be if he could fly to the Red Keep, laser any guards who stood in his way, plop himself on the Iron Throne and declare himself king?
New episodes of The Boys air Thursdays on Amazon Prime Video while new episodes of House of the Dragon drop Sundays on HBO and Max. Next I wouldn't mind seeing Matt Smith visit Vought Tower.
