The last three Jurassic World movies made over a billion dollars each, so was there ever any question that we were getting more? Jurassic World: Rebirth will rotate out the cast from those movies, which included Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and replace them with the likes of Scarlett Johannson, Mahershala Ali, and Bridgerton veteran Jonathan Bailey. Universal has dropped some new pics of our heroes, who will be hiding from rampaging dinos comes July 5, 2025. But first, the official description:

"Five years after the events ofJurassic World Dominion, the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind."

At the top of the post we have Johannson as Zora Bennett, a skilled covert operations expert on a mission to "secure genetic material fro the world's three most massive dinosaurs," which might be code for "steal poop from a brontosaurus." Next to her is Bridgerton's Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, one of those great-looking paleontologists who always pop up in these movies.

And finally there's Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, winner of the 2024 award for Name You Can Tell Was Made Up By A Writer. Duncan is the leader of Zora's unit. Ali's Blade movie can't seem to get off the ground, but at least he's in a major movie franchise somewhere:

These three end up stranded on an island together, where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades. Betcha it involves dinosaurs.

The original Jurassic Park movie came out way back in 1993, revolutionizing the use of special effects in movies and granting the wish of every child to see dinosaurs outside of a boring textbook setting. Over 30 years later, the franchise is bigger than it's ever been. We'll see if Rebirth can keep the momentum going.
