Spoiler-free review of the House of the Dragon season 2 premiere, "A Son for a Son"
By Dan Selcke
Every week, we here at WiC go over the latest news from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, movies, books and TV, synthesizing and analyzing all of it to be beamed directly into your brains. This week is special, because we've gotten to watch the first episode of House of the Dragon season 2, "A Son for a Son," early, and we have thoughts!
We keep our thoughts entirely spoiler-free ahead of the official premiere on HBO and Max this Sunday, June 16. Also, I feel like we're more critical of the episode than some of the other reviews I've seen, although we still enjoyed it overall. Watch our newest episode below and get the details!
We also get around to talking about a few things apart from House of the Dragon. Interview With The Vampire is still being amazing on AMC, The Acolyte is still being mediocre on Disney+, and Daniel has been devouring the Between Earth & Sky fantasy book series by Rebecca Roanhorse. And it wouldn't be an episode of Take the Black without the WiC News Lightning Round, where we blitz through a bunch of news stories we didn't have time to get to in the main body of the show.
The Take the Black Podcast is on iTunes and YouTube Music! Please subscribe and download from there if you can. Also, you can help us out by giving us a five-star rating and leaving a friendly comment! We’re also now on Spreaker, so try us there, as well.
We stream new episodes of Take the Black live every Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. CST on the WinterIsComing YouTube and Facebook channels. Join the discussion! Also, while the second season of House of the Dragon is on, we're meeting immediately after each episodes ends on Sundays to break everything down in detail. Watch! Subscribe! Comment! Etc. It's gonna be fun.
